The Brink Lounge * For this month's show at The Brink Lounge, Tracy and Alan welcome very special guest JOE IAQUINTO (bass, guitars, vocals) who will co-bill the show. Joe grew up and began his music career playing bass in Brooklyn, NY, but relocated to the West Coast in the late '70s where he had the chance to perform and record with an amazing roster of incredible artists and bands...including (to name just a few): Billy Preston, Peter Cetera (Chicago), Earl Slick (David Bowie), Rita Coolidge, Stephen Bishop, Patrick Simmons (Doobie Brothers), Davey Johnstone (Elton John), Wayne Newton, and many many more. Joe now lives with his family here in Madison, where he is writing and recording songs for the release of his first solo record. Joe also plays with some great local bands (Groove Busters and several others), and also continues to work in Los Angeles, New York, and all points in between. For this show, Joe will do some solos but will also combine with Tracy & Alan for a good number of tunes as well. There will be tunes from Chicago, Peter Cetera, Billy Preston, Doobie Brothers, Elton John, Tom Petty, Steely Dan, the Beatles, Fleetwood Mac, and MUCH more! No cover. In the main lounge. Elegant atmosphere with great wines, cocktails, and small plate items. |

He is a Madison-based Americana guitarist and songwriter whose songwriting and highly accomplished playing reflect a great versatility and breadth of musical taste. The Brink Lounge In the main lounge - No cover. For this show I welcome special guest Nancy Rost, my former triomate (with Dave Schindele) in a side project called Likely Stories in the mid to late 2000s. The group is no longer active as a trio but I remain friends with both Nancy and Dave, who are active solo musicians and amazing songwriters. Nancy is very prolific in her songwriting and is a great keyboardist who teaches full-time at Madison Music Foundry. Nancy will perform some solo tunes and we will also perform some together - so expect a healthy dose of originals during this show. And I'll be playing the CELLO with Nancy at this show! Alan M. will on deck as usual to add his special percussion magic. Please stop in! |

New Glarus Music Fest An annual event produced by the New Glarus Youth Committee, held Memorial Day weekend with numerous musical acts participating. See links above for full schedule. Music Fest is beyond the confines of a singular tent and the entire village is invited to get involved. The New Glarus Youth Committee raises funds for scholarships, the annual Fifth Grade Field Trip to Chicago, Lunch with Santa, the Krafty Kids Summer Program, Post Prom Party and a “matching funds” program for projects led by New Glarus youth. |

The Brink Lounge This show will be a co-bill with Michael Bryant, my colleague and co-director of folk/Americana group Common Chord. Michael is a captivating performer and one of the best songwriters I've ever met, with an unforgettable smooth baritone, a nice touch on his Martin D-28 and memorable songs ranging from clever swingy toe-tappers to moving ballads. Some of you may remember that Michael and I were formerly 2/3 of Madison area group Sticky Fingers (now defunct). Top Shelf performs variety covers, with emphasis on great rock/pop from the '70s/'80s/'90s. Bob specializes in rock-and-roll from the '50s and '60s, so between all of us combined, you can expect a big music party! Top Shelf and Bob will jam together a bit in addition to solo sets. There may be another special guest or two to jam in on this night of casual music fun.

Special guest Joe Iaquinto will join us again! We had a blast in February so I'm happy to bring Joe back. He is a a transplant here from LA and New York, and boy is Madison lucky to have him now. He's among the area's best -- singer, bassist, guitarist and songwriter also. He will share favorite covers plus an original or two, and we will do lots of jamming together. Joe is a member of the John Masino Band and also a frequent guest with a number of other area bands including Country Wide. His experience prior to moving to Madison gives him some pretty powerful name-dropping rights. See Joe Iaquinto for more info!

Host group Top Shelf (duo for this month) welcomes folk/Americana group Common Chord for this event which will be the second annual fundraiser for Luke House Community Meal Program, a wonderful organization that serves lunch five days a week and and dinner six days a week for anyone in need. The show will feature lots of unique arrangements of holiday-themed material. No cover, but donations will be gratefully accepted for the Luke House. Or if you prefer, you can bring an in-kind donation from their needs list...see their website, on the home page (scroll down). In the main lounge.
